Sonnet 293.0 – Delirium

Sonnet 293.0

Thanks for coming out to see me today

Or is it tonight?  I can’t remember.

Stay here too long and time will get away

From a person from May to December

But I haven’t got time for the waiting

Game, do you?  Through the window, can you see

Those planes bound together with just one wing

Led ‘cross the sky by a wild honeybee?

Now, why on earth would you come here and cry

When there’s so much to get done before dark

Horses to brand and stars to classify.

Did I hear a tear fall or a meadowlark

Or was it just one more of the clock’s ticks

Telling me you’re here and that I am sick.
